How do I get notified if I have a new pm or post response?
It would be so much easier to participate in discussions here if I could figure out how to get email notifications that I have a pm or response to a message.

Yep. I had that checked. I un-checked it and re-checked it just to be sure. No change.
Still do not get thread or pm notifications.
Incoming PM's should automatically notify you by e-mail. The messages come from members@applefritter.com; you may want to check your spam filter. I know that this functionality works for me.
I'm looking into the thread subscription options now. That's a separate function from notifications for personal messages.
Forum subscriptions should be working now. You can subscribe to a thread, all threads by a particular user, and all threads in a specific subforum.
I checked my spam box, and email accounts at comcast's server. Everything seems normal and I receive email normally from many many sources.
Still no PM notifications.

I didn't see any option as to how to subscribe to a thread or forum..? I will look later more thoroughly to see if I missed anything.
It should appear beneath the first post in the thread, in a collapsed section named Subscribe.
Fixing this completely may take a bit more time; hopefully we can get it all straightened out tomorrow.
Well, tomorrow, that's certainly quick enough. This post also serves as a test to see if I get an email notification.

maybe the setting to user and password of the emailunit is limited to your user/password and won´t work with the login of the normal users...
and for security issues therefor it might be recommended to add some kind of .inc file to the script to make the work for other users too....
you should therefor use for tests a testuseraccount.... if that works it will work also for other users too....
checking errorlogs of emailunit may be usefull too...

I have noticed recently that I have been getting PM notification emails just fine but not thread subscription emails. Perhaps other people are having other experiences?
I still get no PM and no THREAD SUBSCRIPTION updates.

Yes, it's still broken. It's a much bigger problem than was originally thought, and sadly I haven't had the time this week to devote to it.
