As noted in my other post, I'm looking to sell off a bunch of vintage Apple II systems and accessories.
I'm not interested in making lots of money on that; just want to clear some room in the house!
There is, however, one specialty item I would seek a solid price for--it's highly coveted from what I've read and, unlike the computers or monitors, would be a piece of cake to ship. That's a Ramworks II memory expansion card with 1 megabyte on it.
It's working great and shows 727K with Appleworks. It comes with the Applied Engineering Super Appleworks Desktop Expander diskette, version 5.2.1 for both Prodos and Apple DOS.
I've seen eBay prices all over the board for it; some quite high even with only 256K whereas this has 1mb.
Any suggestions on pricing would be appreciated!
Just price it out on ebay, and go with the highest selling item. An item that is listed at a high price can sit around for ages. You have to look at the completed listings to see what has actually sold.
Personally, me, I wouldn't spend more than 30 or 40 bux on it.
But, OTH, I'd spend mega-bucks on a 2meg Expander daughtercard.
Furthermore, I'm still waiting for someone to take me up on a Saybrook 68k package. I want to purchase a complete one, with all manuals and docs and languages. My standing offer is at $14,000 right now.

A "Fair Price". Hmmmm, that could be a hard one.
If you would have asked that question anywhere up to three years ago I would have told you somewhere in the vicinity of $35.00 to $75.00. Some might have been in the area of a little over $100.00. As of right now the prices on most are anywhere between $150.00 (low end starting bid) to almost $500.00 (Buy It Now) on eBay. These are not "New" cards in the box never used. These are used. Some have 512k, some have 1Meg. Some come with the software and Manual, some do not.
It's like every other "Collectible" item. You have to think it through and ask yourself "What would I be willing to pay for such an item?", then go from there.
I have the same delimma when I go to sell items. I see what other folks are asking, but I also see what is actually selling and for what price range.
You have to do your homework and make an informed decision.

Aren't these $150-$500 Ramworks cards, whatever versions they may be, aren't they just going to sit on ebay and not move? It could take years for such an overpriced item to sell.
I think he is listing prices that items HAVE sold for. Otherwise I don't believe gsmcten would have bothered responding to this post. He's pretty good about listing what he has seen things sell for, not an asking price that people ignore.

Yes. These cards will sit there forever and never sold, just like the Monitor Stand in the box (I talked about that one in the other post)for $249.00.
By the way, the seller dropped the price for that stand down to $199.00. lol
I guess this person like pounding his head against a wall repeatedly.
When it drops to 39.95 including shipping I shall consider adding another one to my collection. Till then I shall keep it marked on my watch list.
The only thing I'd pay buku bux for is a 2meg expander (preferably populated). But, eventually, this fetish will soon pass or I'll find another solution. Or I'll just use a IIgs.
