What would be the best linux for this ibm

i have an IBM thinkpad t40, which i got for next to nothing b/c the hard drive broke.it has 1gb of ram, a 10gb hard drive(my only spare) and a 1.6ghz Pentium M processor. it is running Ubuntu linux right now, and everything is supported, even wifi and (i think)bluetooth. i am posting this from the computer.is there a better alternative to Ubuntu? i am new to linux, so it would need to have most of the drivers included.

Thanks

Ubuntu's your best bet if you

Ubuntu's your best bet if you want a simple "it all works out of the box" distribution. You could try Fedora too, but it's not as lightweight.

Ubuntu's Da Bomb

For someone new to Linux there's nothing better. Ubuntu's easy to use and if you do get stuck Googling "This is my problem" + "Ubuntu" will find the answer on the community forums.

The only alternative I might suggest is if you're used to Windows you might prefer KDE over the default GNOME interface. But you don't have to reinstall Kubuntu to get it. Just install KDE via the command line or Synaptic and pick it next time you log in.
