Hi everyone, just joined the forums. Had my iie for a whil, but not really done a great deal with it, just set aside as part of my retro collection. But I'd like to try and get it running a bit more, but frankly I am not sure where to start.
I currently have a iie with apple monitor and 2 x 5 1/4 floppy drives, I've booted a couple of games off floppy but that's about as far as I've got, so here's the questions.
1. Where can I find iie games on the net ?
2. How do I get these from the PC onto the apple ? I've got some audio leads and have watched the video about tape transfer, but not entirely sure about the whole ADT/ADTPro thing, is this necessary ? and where do i get it from ?
3. Are tape images transferred the same as disk images ?
Any help in breathing life into my old apple would be much appreciated.

ADTPro is one of the best programs to use to transfer old Apple II software from a Mac/PC to the Apple II. If you have a Super Serial Card that is the method I'd recommend using. If not you can do an audio transfer of the ADTPro client to your Apple II and then audio transferes of the software you want to use. You can find ADTPro here:

be sure you read everything on the site to understand how to use ADTPro. If you still have questions this is a good place to post them.
As far as I know there really isn't much out there in the way of software on cassette tape for the Apple II, but I would think you could do it the same way, again look at the ADTPro page.

HELP !!!
I've got my Apple iie connected upto the PC via audio connection, I can transfer ProDos onto the apple and then I transfer ADTPro 1.1.1 all seems to work fine, I can format disks etc. but when I try to receive anthing it asks me for the filename.
I type "ADTPRO-1.1.1.DSK" and then I get "Waing for Host Reply, ESC cancels" and the apple just sits there.
Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong ?

The Apple can hear the PC, but the PC can't hear the Apple. You might have plugged into the wrong jack at the PC. It sounds like the white wire on http://adtpro.sourceforge.net/connectionsaudio.html is correct on your setup; the black wire either isn't plugged into the right jack on the PC or you don't have your sound card "listening" to the right jack. It may differ based on the sound driver you happen to have, but start with the Windows Volume Control panel. You should be able to see if "Mic" or "Line in" is muted.
I'm not sure whether it's the tape out on the apple is quiet or the Mic in on the PC that's at fault.
If I connect headphones to the tape out on the apple and use the receive command in ADTpro, on pressing return I get an audiable beep, I've got the Mic Volume set to Max and the Mic Boost set to Max and last night it did occasionally go to the screen to pick the drive you want to save to, but then seemed to stay there
I was going to try another PC I've got to see if that makes any difference, or maybe use a spare sound card I've got rather than the on board sound. I'm starting to think a Super Serial Card would be easier !!

I'm kind of a newbie at file transfers too, but I am going with the Super Serial Card Method. You can go up to Jameco Electronics; they carry a 25 pin to 9 pin Serial Cable that is perfect to hook up. It only costs a couple of bucks and you wont have to worry about audio.

Well I've bit the bullet and ordered a Super Serial Card and a suitable cable, don't know how long the card will take to arrive from the states to the UK though !
Don't seem to see many apple ii's here in the UK
