Speed gains on Applefritter access . . . was there a change?

Hi Dr. W and others,

In the past, the main Applefritter site page would load quickly, but the Forums page was very slow. Now, both are much faster. Has something changed on the boards server end of things?

There haven't been any back-end changes that I know of, and clicking the "Forums" link in the top navbar still takes several seconds to render for me. Eudi, Tom or BDub may know more about what's going on; I've been on spammer hunting duty for a while now.

I've really never had any serious speed issues on AF. However, I pretty much exclusively use the recent posts tracking feature, and really never use the main page.

I certainly haven't touched it. I've been so busy for the past while that I barely have time to kill spam threads when they land in my RSS reader.

Edit: I just checked the server, there haven't been any recent modifications to the underlying code.

Hmm. . .

Hmm,

Well, thanks for the responses. The forums page is still consistently faster than before, on different computers at different locations.

Yes, I'm having the same experience. It's like night and day. Pages load quickly as opposed to forever in the very recent past (knock on wood). I'll burn a sacrifice to the broadband gods for their beneficence.
