Hi Folks,
Thinking of doing a Apple 1 replica - done along the lines of my Apple II rev 0 replica and the obtronix Apple 1. There are some hard to find components involved in this project, but more importantly I would need good images of front and back of an original Apple 1 PCB. Best case would be that of a bare PCB, second best would be without chips in sockets and of course last choice would be a fully populated board. Best images are done by scanner or photocopier rather than by camera. Does anybody know of or can produce such images?

There are high res pics of apple 1's on this site IIRC but I have never seen an unpopulated apple 1 (actually I'd really like to see that).
The 25xx IC's are difficult but not impossible to locate (I'm sure you know this because the rev 0 apple II uses the 2513. I think there was one or two other components that were "difficult" to source but I can't remember which ones offhand.

Oh, I know it has been done and if these units were still regularly available, I wouldn't bother even thinking about this. At this point, I haven't built up a BOM and searched for parts. The images I have found of the board, though some are pretty high resolution, aren't real suitable for my purposes. Without a good image of both front and back, any effort in hunting down parts, isn't a good use of my time. Assuming someone comes up with good images, I'll look deeper into the parts problem.

you can find some usefull datasheets at this site and some nice pics of the apple 1 board. I like this website. It is one of my favorites.

Nice site. Looks like two versions - a wire wrapped prototype and a obtronix replica. The wirewrap idea is cool, but if I'm going to do this, I'd want to reproduce an actual Apple production board. I'm still on the lookout for a high resolution scan of both sides of an original Apple PCB. Till I find it, I've got a number of other projects on the front burner, to work on.
