When I try to expand some old hqx files on os x, it will either say error #-39 unexpected end of file, or it will say this file does not appear to be compressed or encoded. These files work fine with stuffit 5.5 on my se/30, but I need to expand them on os x because I want to burn them to a CD. Does anybody know what is wrong and how I can fix this problem?

What version of Stuffit Expander do you have installed on the OS X mac? The latest version as of press time is 11.0.2. You can visit http://www.stuffit.com/mac/index.html to start downloading, but be warned they will need a valid email address in order to send you the download link, and then they will send the occasional advertisement.
I had expander 7.01. I just went to their site and gave my junk yahoo address and downloaded the latest version for my Mac (10.0.2) and it expanded them all fine. I don't know what was wrong with version 7...
