About a week or so ago, i bought a PowerBook 1400cs from eeun, and it came in today! yey! I'm fairly impressed with it; Its very snappy for its age, and Has a good batter! wow!. Thanks for a working battery btw, eeun. They are hard to come by without some serious cash. It hold a 1:30 hour charge. And, by far, the most applealing feature about the whole thing is its keyboard. It beats every laptop I've ever used all to heck.full sized keys on a laptop? yes!. My Next Mission: Geting a wavelean card so i can take this with me on trips.

On a side note, this came just in time. The AC adapter on my HP laptop just died, and HP refused to replace it, so, (the ac adapter is but one of MANY MANY problems, never will buy another HP product) this little 'book is gonna get a serious work out. Big props to eeun

Seriously. I too have a 1400, and I love it. I have the 1400cs/117, so I don't have the L2 cache, but it runs OS 9.0.4 pretty well, and you just can't beat that keyboard.
I have a 1400c/133 I bought about a month ago. very nice mac. it runs 7.6.1 very well, except it keeps telling me it only has 47-49mb of ram, and I know it has 56mb.
the keyboard is awsome, despite the intense wear the previous (original) owner gave it. the faceplate fell off the CD-ROM drive after i got it, but it works fine without.
also, the original AC adapter (square box, 3 pin grounded AC crod type) was acting like it was dead or dying, as the battery kept draining with it plugged in. The plug on the back is lose (not the jack in the computer, but the connection). i whipped out my yoyo from my wallstree, and it works fine, snug fit, just hope it doesnt fry.
it also has some other cosmetic flaws, scratches on the lear bookcover cover, a crack on the back LCD panel, which bulges, and despite the port door intact, the latch is long gone, so it doesnt close proper. a little duct tape fixes that.

Mine came in excellent shape. no plastics missing, no warping, perdect lcd, no cracks. I was extreemly impressed, and surprised! Its a great kittke machin I bought a wavelan card off of ebay, waiitng for it to come in. Liss little thing is... amazing. Belive it or not, but htis thing totally beats the 1.6ghz celeron in start-up time; XP takes forever -_-. I cant wait for nmy wavelan to come in; i hate being tethered to a Ethernet cable dang it! (spoiled wireless user :p)
Btw; ididnt think that this thing vould play mp3s, but it does great! im listening to Drops of Jupiter By Train as i write this on it :pp
Pretty much any PPC should handle MP3 just fine. The faster 68ks can handle mono MP3s ok.
Damn. I just got the priveledge to hear what a notebook hard disk head crash sounds like
(i blame it on shippping. it was acting wanky from the start!) Anyways, so i was looking through my part bin, and by some boutiful merci of god, i found an -exact- yes, exact match of hard disk for it. Lifes little miracles! 
I love this notebook. Its already been all over town wih me yesturday!
