Automatix on eBay

Somebody buy this and let me know what cards it has and what's on the hard drive. It probably has a pretty high-end video-in card and hopefully the appropriate software.

Maybe a Quadra/Centris 650 with stickers on it. Smile

Based on the floppy bezel ...

I'm thinking it's a IIvx or Centris 650. The Quadra 650 and PM 7100 had the little curved area for your fingers in the middle of the floppy bezel.

IIvx, IIvi, Performa 600, Centris 650

By the floppy slot shape, it's almost certainly one of those, but certainly not a PPC. I checked my examples - my Q650s have the later slot style, but my C650s have the earlier slot style.

Interesting item, too bad the seller is so stingy with details.

If it really is an Autovision

If it really is an Autovision 90, it would be a Quadra 950. I doubt it has the video-in card it shipped with, though, as it was mammoth, and I don't think it would fit in the standard 950 case.

Look at the photo of the back - that sure looks like the Autovision's video-in card to me.

I'm curious as to what makes you so certain that the name "Autovision 90" was only used for their Quadra 950 model, when this unit is so clearly labeled "Autovision 90".

Last year I took a video prod

Last year I took a video production class. We had one of those Autovision 90's, and it was in a much larger case. It didn't work or anything...but it sure seemed to be a Q950 in a different case.

It seems to me that if Autovision were to make a system based on something other than the Q950, they would call it something else?

Also, the labels on this ebay item look like they have different logo's on them. Similar, but slightly different.

I could be wrong though, this was a year ago that I was in the class.
