No matter you maticular religious affiliation, I say Happy Halloween!
This year we had a neighbour come over to help, and probably had 300 kids come by.
After nine (when it died down), we watched the 2005 remake of "The Hills Have Eyes".
I think it was a sufficiently spooky evening.
I spent last night working at Catacombs and Fear Haunted Houses. It was the final year for Fear, and probably the last for Catacombs is they don't find a different buyer. The latest ranking I heard about were that Catacombs was #1 in Kansas City and #4 in the nation. I broke the rules and brought my DV cam in while I worked. I haven't checked the video, but maybe I got some scares on tape. YouTube'll get a clip if I find something good. I've been scaring for 9 years. I like to think I'm pretty good at it.
I spent halloween night browsing paint in walmart to paint my clamshell, and then started painting it at 3 am, Beautifal Baby Blue, we had about 20 trick or treaters, and I had a bunch of celeron 566mhz dells that i couldnt get rid of so i gave each kid a computer LOL, worked good newayz no more crappy dappy peecees in the house...
I remember being impressed by the houses that gave us money as kids. Giving out computers? You know they'll be back next year.
My friends and I went out and got some candy from everyone (We're young enough.. only 3 people said we weren't!) and watched the original Dracula. It was a fun night, especially with my Pyramid Head costume.
Worked late and no trick-or-treaters this year.
I played Half-Life for an hour and a half (scary depending on the part of the game you're in) and went to bed.
Strangely enough, only one person came to our door last year. I know I'm not the prettiest thing in the world, but come on!
they were old peecees what would I do with a 566mhz celeron
Had to use a Dremel on the eyes, didn't work out as well as I wanted.
Seriously, I had Ubuntu running on an old Dell Optiplex 7500 with a Celeron 466 and with the exception of the wireless PC Card it ran pretty quick.
I have a couple of those old Dell Dimension mini-towers in my office. They are accumulating after upgrading the desktops for newer software.
I started the night with my clown nose and a bag of candy, then went reverse-trick-or-treating for a while.
Since my wife and I recently moved in to our neighborhood and have been wicked busy moving in and settling into married life, the new house, and my job we decided against giving out candy. By the time we thought about getting any, it was 7pm. So we left the outside lights off. Since the house sat vacant for two years prior to us buying it, we're assuming that nobody even thought that we were even there (despite the malibu and my volvo in the driveway).
Next year we'll give out candy. For the most part, we were busy dealing with our three cats and I got my cube set up to get some torchwood episodes.
Maybe it's the beer, but I swear I read that twice and thought you said "I started the night with a bag of nose candy..."
