se/30 composite out

im doing mods on my se 30. I found the power/vodep pinouts for the se/30 logic board, and it says it has composite video out, along with horizontal sync and versitcal sync and the appropriate grounds. Can i wire this to a vga connector, or a composite conector?

thanks

eric

IIRC the SE and SE used TTL signals for the video. As such it would not work directly with VGA. However a converter circuit would be fairly easy to build.

The question I have to ask is why? If you need video out, there are lots of 68k systems that support VGA/RGB output.

There is a circuit here for a composite adapter:

You'll need to adjust the pinouts from the logic board connector because the original compact Macs and SE family are different. The main difficulty is finding a composite monitor that will sync with the Mac output without radical surgery.

what i want to do is do a few

what i want to do is do a few different mods on an se/30 for a project for my mac user group

the main mods are adding a internal cd drive, and having composite output to a tv

i want to accomplish the composite out while keeping the remaing monitor intact therefore giving me a mirrored video output to a tv.

can this circuit accomplish this?

test it...

i saw a pinout as well, that labels the pin video out. so, give it a shot. test connect the video out to the tip of an rca connector and a system ground to the ring. plug it into the tv and see if you get an image. if it really is a composite pin you should see something. you may have to build a circut to buffer it, but if its there, then that should work.
