Hello,
A friend gave me the white wireless apple mouse but.. My OS is windows xp sp2.
I tried to install the device on my OS but nothing is working. When windows detects the mouse (as an "Apple Wireless Mouse") it installs it but nothing more. The pointer isn't moving and when I close the bluetooth properties, everything is cleaned.
I don't know if I can really make this mouse works on windows xp sp2 but it would be really nice if it does.
If you have any idea about this problem...
Thanks,
Tinou
PS : excuse me for my english
It only officially works on Macs.. but best of luck getting it to work on Windows!
Though why you would want to use a single button mouse in Windows is beyond me.
The fact is not that I want to use only one button but I want to use this mouse from my bed And I don't want to buy one for that kind of use...
If I find something about windows / apple wireless mouse, I'll update this thread.
Ok ! There's a solution !
When Windows asks you for a security key, just enter "0000" and ... enjoy !
That's the only solution I found and it perfectly works on windows xp.

oh wow, so windows does recognize the mouse correctly and everything, what is this security key that it is referring to though? I'm just curious about that.
I'm guessing it's a bluetooth device? They usually require a security key at each end to stop malicious access.
Everyone is complaining about the apple mouse but it works just fine with Windows XP! Well yeah i do miss the right button but here is the solution: Go to that link http://www.geocities.com/pronto4u/applemouse.html and download the program! After installing you can use the right click function again - you only need yo press the control button on your keyboard and click. I actually bought the mouse because of its design - there is no other mouse that looks that good!
Hi Tinou,
Do you experience problem after your reboot your System? I have gotten it to work. But if I reboot/shut down the computer, the Mac Mouse will not re-connect automatically during the next startup. I need to launch the software and double click on the Paired Icon and choose Connect. Afterwards, it works fine.
If you have such issue, how do you fix it? Thanks so much!
Cheers,
Brian
PS: the Wireless Keyboard will connect automatically after next startup
'Lo BLinsg,
I did not have any problems since the time I connected my mouse. Sorry, I can't help you :/
