I am currently mourning the loss of my beloved Lombard. Sadly, she has given up the ghost. No startup shime, no power, no click whoooor of the HD, no nothing.
I am posting these photos in memory of my beloved book, these are the last images taken of her.

I;ve managed to almost destroy my pismo, ive broken the screen, among othher things. But all is not lost, what all have you tried to resurrect it? Try disconnectinng the internal battery, remova all power and let it sit for a little while, that resurrects mine when it doesnt start. If that doesn't work, also reset the power manager. One last thing, reseat the cpu card. But before doing anything else, disconnect the internal battery and remove all power (battery, ac) and let it sit, then try restarting it. Good luck!
I've tried all of that, with no luck. as well, my Local apple authorized repair center had no luck fixing her.
then it sounds like to me its either ur cpu card, or ur motherboard. sorry dude!
Have you made sure the Power connector is OK? o mean the one soldered to the sound board, both of mine went and had to resolder them. I have two lombards.
Yes, i did. I tried every trick in the book to ressurect this machine.
Pulling the main batts and leaving the A/C cord plugged in for 48 hours (Fixed my wallstreet)?
Replacing the PRAM Battery?
Hold the reset button (between the modem and VGA ports) with a straightened paper clip for about 10 seconds and let up. Now try the power.
If you get it to chime, reset the PRAM (Apple-Option-P-R for 3-4 chimes), then boot into Open Firmware (Apple-Option-O-F).
Once in Open Firmware, type the following commands exactly as you see them, and press [Return] at the end of each command:
reset-nvram
reset-all
Then allow the Lombard to boot normally. Repair permissions, and you should be good to go.
If the PMU reset doesn't work, it is likely the sound/DC board preventing the Lombard from getting proper power to the proper devices. They go for about $35-50 US on eBay, and it takes a couple hours (and a T8 screwdriver) to replace.
