Hi. I'm looking for a new blogging site for technical projects and hacks and I was wondering if anyone had any comments good or bad on sites they've had experience with.
I'm looking for something with tagging, and sort by tag, RSS feeds (preferably by tag too), easy to add links and inline images, simple to set up, space for files, and free. Don't want much do I?
If any of these features are available by relatively pain-free integration with a thrid-party service like Flickr, that's cool too.
applefritter
Applefritter isn't really a blog...
Anyways I think Make is your best bet.
I didn't think Make was a public blogging site, I thought it was a moderated list run by one guy...
Maybe I'm not clear: I want to blog my -own- tech projects, not read about other people's.
Yeah I get it now... Make is run by a group... Actually would Instructables work? It's meant for a wider range of things but it seems to meet your descriptions.
I had a look at Instructables, and it seemed a. really messy and b. more set up for public display of finished projects. I want something where I can log work as I'm doing it, keep notes and resources for myself, and have visitors chime in with comments, links, suggestions etc.
Wordpress has been suggested.
Hmmmm.... Google Notebook?
What would be nice though is to be able to define groups of people and permissions to access different pages. And read/write permissions too. ie to make a page public but no comments, public to a list and commentable by that list, totally public but comments only by list members, totally private, etc. Google Notebooks only lets a page be totally public or totally private, and it doesn't seem commentable.
