We have a license for Windows 2000. I'm not a fan of XP, and we don't have a license for it. My wife's PC is REALLY old, but she still has a few things she needs windows for. Namely, her BBS/MUD Scripting software. (Yah, I know...)
I know people have somehow gotten Linux to install with Boot Camp. Think Win2K will work?
If you can afford an Intel Mac you can afford a copy of Parallels Workstation? ($40) It avoids the *many* driver problems you're going to have trying to make Windows 2000 run on a new Mac (or any bleeding-edge new machine) directly.
I'm sure 2000 will run in some capacity. "Some capacity" will probably mean 800x600x16 color (not 16 bit!) screen and no functional network devices or USB ports. Have fun!

Thing is, I use Tiger, OpenBSD and Solaris pretty much exclusively, so I have no use for Windows at all. My wife knows a little UNIX but not much, and she doesn't know OSX at all. I think this would be a good way to change her ways while upgrading her from a 550MHz box to something a *snicker* little peppier.
If $40 is all it takes to make win2k work then so be it.
