How to make a DOS Boot disk for my apple IIe

I have an apple iie platinum that I got from a school. It works fine but by the time I found it and asked they had thrown away the old 5.25" DOS disks, and games. Now my question is: How can I make either a ProDos, or Dos 3.3 bootdisk without an existing one. All I have is the .dsk image. I do have a 5.25" FDD in my Wintel PC but im not sure if i would be able to make the disks with that.

Nope. . . those aren't compatible drives. . . .

The PC drive hardware isn't compatible with the Apple II drive hardware. It's easiest to start with an actual disk with the DOS or ProDOS on it and copy the format. The ProDOS System Master Disk is a functional way to deal with this.

Start here....

ADT is where you will have to start. Go to this link...

http://www.apple2.org.za/gswv/a2zine/Sel/ADTWin.html

Download ADT.

Then go here...

http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html#001

And read everything. Then the world of Apple .DSK images on the web is open to you. Enjoy....

Hallo,

with a programm like CiderPress or the AppleCommander you can "copy" the Hex of a dos and "paste" it to HyperTerminal, that is connected with the apple II ...

Must be the same way transfer the ADT-Hex ...

Maybe someone knows more about the monitor-programming than me and can help you moreover ...

Greetings

Once again....

Once you have the serial cable hooked up you transfer the "ADT_ss.dmp" program. Then you can use the ADT program to transfer .DSK files.
Read all of the readme files, all the answers are there.

Do i have to use a null modem adapter?

i've got a parallel crosover cable that's used for transfering files between two PCs via Direct Cable Connection. I think i could but i'm just making sure. and a side question can i use an atari or c64 joystick with the apple II

A parallel link cable is abso

A parallel link cable is absolutely not the same thing as a null modem cable. Wink See the Wikipedia page for DCC. A null modem cable only needs 3 wires to work, though more are needed to do hardware handshaking.

That's a no. I put the wink

That's a no. I put the wink in to show I wasn't trying to be harsh with the "asolutely not" bit. A parallel LapLink cable: http://www.nullmodem.com/LapLink.htm
A serial null modem/laplink cable: http://www.nullmodem.com/NullModem.htm

You only need to use TD RD and SG for a serial line. For null modem use you swap TD and RD between the machines. Then you hook up the handshake lines as needed by the software or hardware.

Bootstrapping and transfers via audio links

For posterity's sake... the ADTPro project can bootstrap a bare-metal Apple and transfer disk images over audio/cassette ports:
