Possible to make an Apple II reproduction?

It seems there is a lot of interest in Apple 1 reproductions. There are now two people who make kits for them. What about making an Apple IIe reproduction? It could be an interesting project. Would it be more difficult than making an Apple 1?

I'd say yes...

I have this clone called Redstone (which seems to be the only one like it) and I know there are many other clones out there as well. My guess would be that Apple II reproductions would be fairly easy to make because many companies/people have done it before.

Why bother?

There are several million Apple ]['s, ][+, ][e's, //c's, //c+'s, and ][GS's out in the world, not to mention the clones, available for cheap on Ebay or in thrift stores. Why expend your time making a replica when you can have the real thing?

For fun

Just for fun I guess. There are tons of C64s out there, yet people have made new versions of them recently.

What I would like is an Apple

What I would like is an Apple II on a stick.

It would hook up to your PC via usb and use it for the terminal and storage, but also have a breakout box for the normal ports and expansion slots.

A2 Repro

Visit "reactive computers" site and look at what
they are doing with Apple II reissues. Maybe that
is up your alley? They are always open to suggest-
ions as well.
