Thought "Longhorn" was open to jokes?
Microsoft to Succeed Vista With Vienna.
Just curious. Will it be sold in tiny little cans?

So...

does this mean that if they keep up the current naming scheme the name for Windows 2010 will be "Virus"?

You mean it's not one already? It certainly has been virulent.

Windows is not a virus, viruses are well maintained by their authors to wreak havoc on peoples computers. Windows does this anyway.

Heh...no, I think the name means Vienna, as in As big as for the size of the hard drive you'll need to install it.

Guess "Bejing" is due next, followed by "New Delhi".

No, the difference between Windows and a virus is that the virus is compact and coded efficiently.

Honestly why do you believe that?

Please don't reply with it has lots of bugs, or Mircosoft is a monoply or the like.

Convince me in a rational and logical mannor why windows is so bad that we would be better off had it never existed/

Just My Thoughts

I'm not going to defend fynch's remarks, but nor am I going to defend Windows. In fact, not much of a fan of big OS's, no matter the company (yes, even OS X could be seriously trimmed down). I've used a lot of OS's in the past two and a half decades, and each have had their advantages and disadvantages. I work in a Windows XP environment during my day job. At night, I still have a number of machines that run Windows, and the latest Mac OS I have is 9.2
This could easily deteriorate into an OS flame war, and that was never really the intention (I think the worse comment I made personally was about Windows being virulent... which, let's be honest, it is. In fact it's pretty darn ubiquitous). This was simply a fun exercise in codenames.

all i need is system 6 or a u

all i need is system 6 or a unix command line, or a dos prompt. to bad system 6 isnt more internet compatible then it would be all i need along with a mac plus and an en/sc, and system 5 fits on 2 1.44mb floppys or 4 800k floppys, only 2 or 5 OSes can do that now adays.
