You need Briel's serial interface, a serial cable, and a USB to serial adapter.
why?
Because your G5 has no serial port, so you need a USB serial dongle. The Replica I has no standard serial port, so you need V. Briel's serial card. Then you hook the two together. How else would you try to do it if there are no built-in com ports?
no, why would you wanna connect them? can you upload programs to the apple 1s ram via G5?

what they're all saying is that to transfer programs to the replica 1 from your g5, you need serial on both ends to transfer data back and forth. on the g5 side that means a usb to serial dongle. on the replica 1 side, that means the serial card.
