I'd like the Recent Forum Topics sidebar off by default, but available for registered users who want it. Unfortunately, this isn't an option, so the alternative was to move it to a less prominent location.

It was easyer and faster to get to on the side I have dial up and it was faster on the side
It's still there. You just have to scroll down farther.
I noticed that too today. I preferred where it was before, above the ads links.
I'm glad he moved it back!
Active forum topics have been moved back to where they were previously.
Users who are not logged in or are new users cannot see these.
Registered users can turn active/new forum topics on by visiting their "my account" link in the upper left of the page.
All currently registered users have this switched to 'on', unless they've previously disabled it.
