Even his example of media player 9 is rotten. Maybe you need XP to get some obscure funciton to work BUT it installs and works fine with all windows 98/2000 machines. This new safari won't work at all with anything less than 10.3.x.
How blithering stupid. Its not like jag is an "old" operating system by any stretch of the word.
Yeah, I noticed this too, as I'm one of those people who likes to stay current with update downloads.
BTW, I think that this discussion should be moved to a different forum.
You may not like this marketing/sales policy of Apple Computer Inc., but as someone who has been observing their products fairly casually for the last four years, and has purchased three Mac's, and convinced my girlfriend to buy an additional one during that same period, I can say that they are being consistant.
They have evidently based their sales model on the concept of doubling computer power every 18 months, and convincing people to update their machines and software on a regular basis. This was bourne out with the iPod/battery life imbroglio that has been recently rectified.
No, I have to agree that this sucks. Not only was 10.2 the current release within the last, what, six months, but pulling the older version of Safari off the site at the same time as releasing a 10.3 only version is just rude.
