Admit it. There are some Macs you just love to touch. Maybe it's the material they were made out of...maybe it's their shape. Whatever it is, you just love running your hands over it. But what is it?
I love to touch my PowerBook 3400...just the lid. I love that curve that arches gracefully across the top, so unique and so absolutely counterproductive to notebook mobility that it is guaranteed never to be seen again.
(to clear any misconceptions you may have, no I do not "seriously need to get laid." I have a gf and she's hot and much booty is had)

...I would have to say it is my Newton MessagePad 2100.
While not really a Mac, it is my favorate. I like the rubberized texture. I like the way it does not fit well in my pocket when I shove it in anyways while heading for the men's room. I like the way it looks and feels bulky on my belt while nestled in its belt holster. I like the way it keepfits nicely in my paw and has such a commanding presence when I hold it in front of others. I often find myself saying 'my PDA is bigger than yours - you can touch it if you want to'.
The ibook clamshell has a cool rubber fell to it so dos the powerbook

just to feel the power and expandabity potential just makes me purr. All that black just turns my mac obsession on (i was going to post another word, but felt it might be, err.. Just wrong [as if this post wasn't already

12" AlBook - I never use mine, it feels too bloody precious and ain't practical enough for me to overcome its preciousness. But shucks, I do love to just hold and stroke and touch . . . ooops, did I say that out loud?
bronze keyboard Powerbooks - what a super pair these two are. They just feel sooooo right, all those sensuous curves . . . One of Apple's industrial design peaks for sure.
PowerBooks Duo 210/230/250/280 - Just now I walked around my shop and picked up hardware, and this is one of the few I couldn't just set right back down. I was actually holding my supermaxxedout 2300 with the 250 screen, but same diff. If the damn keyboards didn't suck so, I'd still be using it.
Yosemite tower formfactor (eg: Yosemite through MDD) - that sleek polycarb exterior feels quite lovely when stroked. Ask me how I know. Doesn't anyone else fondle their desktop Macs?
TAM - is nice to touch. From the front at least, it's got a certain sleek design integrity, with nice attention to surfaces that encourage touching. Not one of my fave macs, but certainly deserves a mention.
Hey, I know! My MacTV! It ain't exactly the most caressable, but the unique black ABS case seems to call out for a stroke or two. Anyone else experience that effect?

For me, it's always been compact macs and PowerBooks. The original Mac Classic, for some reason was always kinda nice to the touch. Most PowerBooks have been too. The small PowerBooks (180 (yeah, I know it isn't that small), duo 230 (oh it felt so nice to touch), and the 12" PB G4 I had). For some reason, my 15" Aluminum G4 just doesn't do it for me. Eh.

In all seriousness, it would definately be the Colour Classic. It's probably the most natural looking computer I've ever owned or seen. The TAM is absolutely fabuolous, but too thin to hug well!
There's just something about a machine that fits in your lap just so and is tall enough to rest your chin on. Nice texture, especially after cleaning the blood off of the case (long story).

There was an eBay auction in which the wife insinuated she bludgeoned her husband with it (yeah it was a 1G iBook)
The Lombard/Pismo G3 Powerbooks are by far the most caressable.
I agree with the G3 Powerbook thing... I have a pair of wallstreets. The rubberized insert on the lid beckons you or something.
My iBook is nice but I really love the curvy black Pismo shape; it is still the best laptop design ever in my opinion. I also find the eMate very touchable, and when I used to use my Duo 230 on a regular basis, I would often just stand there and marvel at it's compact shape.
I also find my SE/30s huggable, despite being a bit angular. But they are very cute.
The eMate 300 has a really nice shape ontop, though I guess it isn't really a mac (if someone were to port basilisk II to it ten it might be counted as a mac, hint hint :p)
i think the wallstreet is a nice machine, especially after cleaning it with car products. it looks black right after instead of whatever blackish-gray my hands made it from typing and carrying it around. the black beats the living hell out of my ibook since i sketch all the time and having graphite on my hands does not work out well when sketching and using ichat at once. beautiful maching, but a mess to clean though. anyone know of plastic and rubber cleaners that don't lose their shine upon touching the surface?
Hmm... My favorite desktop has to be the SL iMac. It made my room nice an cozy when I was using it (10 degrees fahrenheit warmer than the rest of the house.) The iMac G4 is useless as a heater.
My favorite PowerBook has to be the 3400c, not too hot. It was cool to work ontop of my bed, then climb under the covers to find it warm where the PB was. I once fell asleep while using my PB Duo 230c PPC (really just a 280 with some mods) and woke up to a burning sensation, damn that thing got hot.
The Wallstreet is my best to touch...matte plastic going to smooth metal with the Apple logo in the middle. I just want to hold the thing!
But for sheer sexy good looks, I have to go with my Quicksilver G4.
I don't have a favorite, but my wife seems to think the Mini is "cute". I think it's nice and clean looking, but the feel is odd because there isn't much there to touch...
