As a result of a spill, my Pismo keyboard is dead along with at least some logic board function. I have had success in using a USB keyboard, but often the computer acts erratically (brightness control beeping, typing randon characters, etc...) I'm guessing it is getting signals somehow from the built in keyboard controller. Is there a way to disable the built in keyboard (it isn't even attached anymore!)
try to find the small switch that tells the computer that the display's closed & hold it down as the comp starts up, but it will disable the internal display (i think this works anyway & it also disables the trackpad)
remove the keyboard, and remove wahtever you have to, to get to where the logic board attaches to the keyboard. disconnect the keyboard. tada.
replacements on ebay are super easy to get ahold of

there are more, just search "pismo keyboard"
EDIT
and if by anychance you are interested in getting rid of the laptop i'm in the market, let me know
Not tada. Read the OP's last line
hmm.. missed that, thats really sdtrange, must be a bad logicboard
If it was my PB, I would take the entire thing apart and clean every single board. Depending on what the OP spilled on it, soada or lemonade could remove traces on the boards. Not good!
