I'm sad that the "eMac" computer isn't available anymore -- I wanted it 'cause an all-in-one APPLE computer would have a small footprint without a cpu/monitor/keyboard/mouse cluttering my desk.
So I've decide to get a "MacMini" computer, but I don't want it off to the side taking up real estate.
So I was thinking -- would it be possible to "emulate", if you will, the "all-in-one ambiance" by resting a flatpanel on top of a "MacMini"?
Would it be too heavy & screw up the "MacMini" 's insides?
I'm sure some sort of "support" is available that'd fit ove the "MacMini" computer & the monitor'd rest on that, but I don't want that.
Thank You In Advance!

While the mac mini's aluminum shell is fairly strong, I would strong advise against putting a monitor, even an lcd on top of it. Since quarters are so close inside, you may have issues with the optical drive as a result. The other issue is that the base for the lcd will likely be bigger than the mini's footprint. A lot of the supports are pretty nonintrusive and you'd likely not even notice them. For example, the Plasticsmith Grandstand http://www.plasticsmith.com/grandstand .

Apple has refurbished eMacs on its Special Deals page. Considering they carry a full warranty, they're a good deal.
The "GrandStand" is PRECISELY what I was lookin' for, iantm!!
THANK you, THANK you, THANK you !!!

Those Grandstand jobbies are a bit pricey, doncha think? It's a two-bend bit of acrylic sheet fer cryin' out loud!
By my way of thinking, the real cool jobbie would be a bracket that would strap a macMini and its power supply to the back of the display. I'd suggest putting them on opposite sides to balance out the weight, with the Mini's optical slot at the outer edge to allow easy CD/DVD insertion.
That way the Mini is completely out of the way, not shoved under a bit of clunky folded plexiglass with a larger footprint than the display.

You need a bigger desk.
Maybe you could just buy more real estate with that $35 bucks... just find out whn IKEA restocks, they always sell stuff like that for cheap.
That's what I was thinking. I noted that his first choice was the eMac because it wouldn't require as much space as the Mac Mini? Huh? The Mac Mini will take up more space than an eMac?
I couldn't figure that one out either...
