i have two mac classic II with sound problems, one doesnt make anysound at all on the internal speaker but is pretty clear with headphones, and the other one kind of whistles like, on old world WWII movies when they drop bombs, The pitch will go from high to low, but it works perfect with headphones.

the silent one has been silent since before i got it 4 years ago, and the whistling one sat in a dry garage for 7 years before i got it, so could the whistling be the age of the speaker and it not being used for so long, they both did these things before the dishwasher trick
replace all the electrolytic capacitors on the mobo, my Classic did this and replacing them fixed it fully, now I get sound out of it.
were can i get replacement capacitors, and what kind, and what kind of soldering iron and solder should i use, all i have right now is one of those coldHeat battery operated soldering irons
A Coldheat sucks for de-soldering through-hole components, FWIW. I've got one and a cheapo RadioShack plugin and I use the RadioShack for any desoldering tasks. I also use it for through hole soldering. The Coldheat is used almost exclusively for SMT reflowing and soldering if I don't already have the plugin warmed up.
If you are quick and have the iron hot you can usually desolder SMT devices with 2-3 pins with the one iron. If it's 3 pin you can usually get two pins heated at once and get the component to lift. Practice is really needed so you don't lift the solder pads from the board. That happens when you get in a hurry and try to force something off when the solder isn't melted yet.
The Cold Heat sucks period. I bought one, and it doesn't work worth a crap. Yes, you can solder with it, but by the time you get it positioned on the piece just perfectly so it'll actually get the stupid thing to heat up, a normal soldering iron would be ready to go. And besides, $10 each for tips that break super-easy? I'll stick with my Weller.
