How do I log into other drupal sites (i.e. thisweekintech.com). When i tried it with adding @applefritter.com to the end of my user name it didnt work.

Drupal is the software that the site owners run the site with, not an overall login ID system like the Microsoft MSN Pasport or a Yahoo! ID. Each site will have it's own list of IDs and users. You'll have to register with each site seperately.
Actually there is an option in Drupal to allow you to do this. However it has to be enabled on both sites for it to work, and IIRC it isn't enabled here.
