Total noob ? but how do i completely remove Adobe Acrobat from my powerbook. Since I have installed this my mac is hanging at the desktop for a minute and then all of the icons appear.
It never did this until I installed adobe's software. I'd rather not read pdf's if it slows the boot up that much.

What machine are you on and what os version?
PowerBook G3 (wallstreet) OS 8.6, just got it two days ago, back into the mac side of things, been away since system 7.1!
If it's a newer version of Acrobat it probably installed ATM, try turning that off in the control panel first. See if the boot speed improves. You should also spec which mac, which OS and which rev of Acrobat a/o ATM you installed.

I'd try rebuilding the desktop as well as tweeking with extentions. If you didn't get it with a freshly installed OS that may be a good idea as well. Among otherthings that would probably get you a slightly older and less bloated version of Acrobat. I'd also try and upgrade it to OS 9 and OS X if you're just now moving back to the Mac. 8.6 was nothing more than a steping stone and 9 isn't too much more than that.
As for hardware you might have the Mainstreet Cacheless version (233MHz) wich isn't going to be that great unless you upgrade the processor card. RAM may be a factor as well.
If you need some RAM (couple 128MB sticks IIRC) or a newer OS install disk for it give me an email - I've got a few parts left from my attempt at fixing up a Wallstreet that I may as well part with.

This thread looks like another interesting ForumsBug, my assumption is that the time tag variable is set by when you click on "Comment " as opposed to when you actually post. I'm going to leave this open and try to post in another new window first.

Also to my knowledge it is a wallstreet and not a Mainstreet.
14" screen, 288MB, OS 8.6, and I believe a 233 may be a 266 I have to double check on that.
