No, only the powerbooks have the option of superdrive unless you want to upgrade it yourself...
The main reason it isn't available on the 12" iBook is an effort to differentiate it from the 12" PowerBook. As for installing one, it's reasonably straightforward. Though, it may be more cost effective to buy an external drive. It'll be cheaper and likely faster than a slot loading drive at a similar price point. If you can get the drive, the installation isn't what I'd call terribly easy for those who don't work on them all the time. You'll have to pull the top and bottom case (7 screws on top case,10 screws from bottom case), then the top emi shield (more than 10 screws, and then you'll have access to the optical drive (four screws hold it in, then the 5 screws holding the brackets on the existing drive. Also, if you do this, be sure to use loctite on the screws that hold the optical drive bezel to the frame. (this is for structural integrity purposes). You'll also want the plastic case tool or something along those lines to separate the top and bottom case. Other tools needed (torx 8 screw driver (for 3 screws on bottom case), precision phillips screwdriver)
