sounds like they guy is neither confirming or denying...though his email reply to me shows he is well versed in vintage computers...i would believe he would have looked further. When i asked for a picture of the inside...he stated that it was already packed..sounds fishy
I'm very doubtful that it's an authentic Apple-I.
For the difference in price from $200 to $15000+, I'm sure the guy isn't so lazy as to not open the box and check it out.
He's definitely skirting the issue with his answers posted, and hoping people thinking it's an Apple-I will bid bigtime in the off chance it truly is an Apple-I.
Color me doubtful

Regarding the apple 1. He says the computer powered up, and you see a monitor in the picture. If he hooked the computer to the monitor to verify operation he would have noted something on the boot screen would he not? I've never actually seen an Apple 1 powered up, but I would have thought that there would have been a logo on screen. I agree from the wording that it sounds fishy. Could have been a hobbyist that wanted a wooden case on an Apple II. He actually seems to be insinuating that it is an Apple II by saying you should'nt be disappointed if it was. IMHO
i cannot believe is closed over $2,000. someone is going to be really upset!
