Stop saying "think". I don't mean like 'thought'; I mean stupid words such as "everythink". Or sentences such as "I broke the think". What? No, no it isn't just a typo. I mean quit SAYING 'think'. For the love of God, every second person I see in the street is using the word "think" to replace "thing". Here's the difference.
Think: To use or exercise the mind or one's power of reason in order to make inferences, decisions, or arrive at a solution or judgments; "I've been thinking all day and getting nowhere".
Thing: A special situation; "this thing has got to end"; "it is a remarkable thing". An action; "how could you do such a thing?". An artifact; "how does this thing work?". An event; "a funny thing happened on the way to the...". A statement regarded as an object; "to say the same thing in other terms"; "how can you say such a thing?".
Are they REALLY that similar? Is it REALLY that easy to say or type 'k' instead of 'g'?
Next person I hear or read substituting the former for the latter, I will RUN OVER THEIR DOG. Well, at least let them know they've gotten on my nerves a great deal.
Thank you for your time. I think I need a nap.
something tells me you had a bad day. Care to share?
...tell us everythink that is botherink you, mein fruend!
I hope you don't have a dog...
No, my day was just wonderful.
Started off with a leisurely stroll to work in order to be half an hour late.
Got a call from a desperate man saying if his iBook couldn't be fixed today so he could do a make-or-break business presentation tomorrow morning, he'd be stuffed, and of course our courier didn't make any deliveries so the part wasn't even there to install.
Installed Tiger on my work G4, had fun watching it delete my service database from the XServe. Spent the rest of the day manually searching around the place for people's computers and trying to work out their status. Of course to accomplish this, I needed to spend an hour forcing Filemaker Pro 7 to open in this MARVELLOUS new OS.
Left for lunch, knowing a short break would cheer me up. Waited in line @ McDonalds drive-through for 15 minutes(couldn't leave, trapped between two cars). Greeted by obnoxious high-school drop-out who short changed me before denying doing so. Waited outside McDonalds for a further 10 minutes for my ham + cheese roll.
Frustrated and angry, I took off in a hurry, throwing my carefully-placed, full cup of lemonade right off the dashboard onto the freshly re-carpeted floor of my Volvo. While searching for things to mop up the mess with, I discovered that some drunk friends I had recently driven home from a party had stolen all my tissues and napkins from the seat pockets, so I had NOTHING to clear up 700Ml of lemonade from hundreds of dollars worth of new carpet.
Gave up, parked, walked back to work. How long did all that panicking take me? 1 hour, 20 minutes. I have a maximum 1 hr allowable lunch break. Lovely.
To sum up the rest my wonderful day, F****************!
So, no, I haven't had a bad day, I just wanted to clear something up, specifically, the difference between Think and Thing.
