Lots of info M.I.A.!! Do we need help?

I am kind of back in the Color Classic mode again (after an 8-month hiatus). One thing I notice is that the Gabezing room is mostly (or completely?) gone. Therefore, many of the procedures for Mystic creation are gone. For example, the instructions for soldering the LC575 board to use the board with OS7.5 + --- gonzo.

Also, the directions for adding a 21MHz+ oscillator to change the LC575 board from 33MHz to 40+ ---- not to be found.

Do we need to figure out some central place for keeping the instructions and accompanying photo tutorials so this stuff doesn't get lost?

I have the following website available: http://www.designersunlimited.com. I have no problem hosting on that - I have plenty of space. I may try to solicit $1 dollar donations from visitors, though, just to help pay my hosting bills.
I would ask everyone then to contribute info. I would put it up on the site. Does anyone think that is a good idea?

And by the way, where is that Gabezing room guy, anyway?

Jeff

To your right you'll see a "create content" link. You're welcome to submit any tutorials you like.

Huh?

1. There is nothing "to my right," and nothing on this page says "create content."

2. I am talking about stuff I don't have, but maybe others do.

He means left, just for clarification. Near the top. (I know, that doesn't change that you don't have the info, but for other confused people reading this thread.)

Wow....

Folks, either Angel I'm blind or (B) you have a different internet from what I'm using. There is nothing that says "Create content."

But I think we are missing the point, which is: There are many sites now missing that had CC mod info. Now, what to do about it?
I have offered a solution.

Ok, I'm blind

Now I see the "Create Content" link.

Still, that isn't my point.

Need to gather

I think all this stuff needs to be in one, central location. Or at least linked to from one location.

Here's what you should see

Here is a pic of what I see in my upper left corner.

I think what Tom was trying to say is that we can use his site (this site) as a repository for all our info.

But I've noticed too that some of the old info is gone - we better start preserving it quick - but thankfully Stuart (and some of the others) are still around to help us!

Kudos

I recognize Stuart is Mr. Color Classic, kudos...kudos. But the Japanese Gabezing guy seems to have been one of the major innovators as far as tinkering to see what could be done with the CC (I loved the "I analyze how to increase speed on Color Classic Smile . I don't see any of his work anymore, except for what has been archived on other sites. Seems like there was another guy that had a red hot soldering iron, too! He wasn't afraid to slice and dice on any motherboard!!

Where are the tutorials?

If a lot of people are using the "create content" link, then where are the tutorials? I don't see a link to them (again, maybe I'm blind......"

This discussion died rather quickly...................

Only 2hrs and it's dead? ;)

Only 2hrs and it's dead? Wink I'd surely like the info too, but dialup makes some of the work kinda pointless for me to do much with, if I had it though, I'd post it.

Sorry I'm late to this debate - took me a while to get back in CC-mode after 2 weeks in Apple-land.

Some of the gazebing room stuff is on the web archive site, eg:

http://web.archive.org/web/20030702143907/http://gabezing.sytes.net/lc575-40mhz-e.html

Other stuff needs re-finding and saving.

I suggest a three stage process:

Collective memory tells us what we want to save.

We find it.

A couple of people save it and make it accessible.

An interesting issue is the CC FAQ, which the Pickle put together. He stormed off from the CC scene a while back, having taken the site down. I prevailed upon him to reinstate it, but I would not like to suggest that anyone mirrors that site while it's up. Someone might like to archive it in reserve. . . .

Stuart
