C/C++ book for a n00b

I really need to start teaching myself a language, and I more or less settled on C or C++. I got Codewarrior Learning Edition 4.1, but I'd like a book as well. What would people recommend as far as something thats easy to read, but teaches you what you need to know. I want to build a basic understanding before I learn more advanced stuff.

Wasn't someing included?

With my Academic version of CodeWarrior there were PDF versions of several books on coding. I haven't had the determination to sit down and learn C or C++ to any real degree but the included stuff looked like a good start.

C++?

Cool, c++ is the way to go, but I would first recommend you have at least Geometry, AlgebraII or preCal, for ye younger high school folks, as much of it is mathmetical. I would recommend learning a sompler language first, such as basic and simple javascripts. Also, Java is a nice choise (thats what Im doing) and Java and c++ share tons of stuff, you show a java program to a c++ programmer and they can tell you what 90 percent of the stuff is.

I would recommend getting a group of friends to learn with so you can help each other with some concepts you can't understand.

I HATE THE NEW FRITTER, ITS CRAP.
Like going from mac to winXP or something to that extent.

Heh heh

I've taken Alg I and I'm about halfway through Geo, and I must admit that I blow at math. Really bad. Anyway, CodeWarrior is weird, and I can only find the java training program, but the serial number I have won't work (I did buy the software). So I'm looking for a book. I'm also fooling around with some various scripting languages.
