Hello all,
I recently came into possession of a bose unit/power supply from a Twentieth Anniversary Mac. A friend of mine just sold his TAM, but had an extra bose unit that the buyer didn't feel like paying the shipping for. So, for the cost of a couple slices of pizza, it became mine. Any ideas on what I could do with it? I'm not really sure what I want to do. What I do know is that I won't paint it because it looks awesome as is. All ideas are appreciated!

I've been wondering what to do with the extra base I have . . .
Too lazy (so far) to sus out the connector pinouts, but it can't be too hard. 'Course it'd help to have a complete TAM to figger where goes to what. Err, which I have (a complete TAM that is), but as I say, lazy.

Unfortunately, I don't have a TAM of my own. Having this bose unit is likely the closest I'll come to owning one. Ideally, I'd like to keep it looking stock. That leaves the questionof what to do with the innards. I think it would be neat to shoe horn a computer in there, but with the odd shape, I am not sure how feasible this would be.

I was just thinking of using it as a PS/subwoofer for another 'puter. I'm soooo conventional! ::)
Well, I'm sure something interesting would fit. Say, how about cutting the speaker grill off the top and using it as a flowerpot?

haha. Well, that wouldn't certainly be different though not quite what I had in mind. As it is, peple think I am strange enough since I made my Kleenex Cube!
I have one. It's next to impossible to take apart. The outer shell slips on like a big sock and snaps in place. Then some screws help it stay there. It's pretty packed inside though. Not much room for anything beyond nanoITX or PC104.
Hi guys,
I took my TAM's Bose Subwoofer apart (you have to be careful though, cause the plastic breaks quickly). Remomve the power unit and transformer. Install your own 12V DC transfomer. Wire up the cables correctly, add some desktop speakers and you can use the former TAM power unit as your stereo equipment.
If you're more interested I can get some pictures.
Cheers, Claus
Pictures would be great. Thanks!
Or a mac mini maybe?
Oh darn, I just sold my camera. I'll try to get hold of a friends, then I'll post pictures. It's really simple though and it gives a sound that's perfect

I got a TAM but with no keyboard or bose unit :/
