Hi,
I have an iBook G3 800 and i have just got broadband (woo hoo!!) and i would like to be able to use it anywhere in my house. I have a speedtouch 330 modem and a pc upstairs. I was wondering:
1) what is the cheapest way of doing this?
2) is the pc neccesary?
If someone could please answer these questions without the technical jargon, i would appreciate it.

Pick up a linksys wireless router, hook it to the speedtouch. The linksys has 4 eithernet ports so you can hook up the pc to one of them.

what OS do you have on your PC. With 2000 and higher, you can do internet connection sharing with a wireless card in the PCI slot and have the modem connected to the ethernet card. After that, get a wireless card for the iBook and log on to the out going connection that the PC is putting out.

So, that IP banning module is apparently quite useful.
Cole, If I find you post again, you will never be at my house again. (dr. Bob. He was not at my house when he post.) I think the problem you are having with doing the IP Banning is that the IP Address on our cable Modems roll over to a new one every thirty minutes. We use Cox Communications

I will talk to the head of his house (which runs the wireless network) and will simply have him block any queries going to a AF. I know that if he knows Cole is cause so many problems, He will block it for me. The only problem that You will be having, is blocking him from accessing from the library, and his school. I apologize profusely that I have unleashed a horrible monster onto AF. I have talked to him and have banned him from my house.
If you think this "Cole" person is posting the smell comments, it isn't. It is a stupid person from my school called ALEX HAMILTON. His provider is BT. God he is annoying!
