I'm looking to buy a 1600x1200 desktop LCD. I almost purchased a ViewSonic VP201s until they took two days to respond to my inquiry about the pivot feature working with Mac OS X. It doesn't and their website doesn't mention this.
The ViewSonic does have really excellent reviews, though. Now I'm considering a Sceptre X20G-Naga II. Almost nobody carries it and I can't find any reviews, but the specs look excellent, it's $100 cheaper, and it has some features which I really like (RCA Video, PIP Dual Windows, etc.) Everything about it looks good. I'm just worried it might be junk. Anybody have any experience with Sceptre? Know anything about them? Ever seen this display?
I have seen many LCD's and i havnt seen one that compares to apple displays. i dont know how they do it, but they just do it right. ive seen other displays in stores, when you turn the resoloution below its max everything goes blocky, with the apple displays, this doesnt happen. just my personal taste
Anybody have any first-hand experience with the ViewSonic?
I've used a few ViewSonic monitors in the past, and they've all been decent.
I'd also look into Dell monitors. We have several thousand where I work, and they're all good-looking, durable monitors with decent prices. I love the 17" Dell LCD I have at home.
Viewsonic is suppoedly one of the top brands in LCDs. If you have the patience to deal with Sony support, I suggest looking into an XBRITE display from them. Keep in mind that their support majorly sucks.
