Well, after giving it much thought, I decided to go ahead with it. I had an iBook keyboard that was broken (one of the tabs' spring had come out, and the keyboard lock was also broken.) This was an iBook Dual USB, Keyboard. Well, after getting the new keyboard yesterday, also the box to ship the laptop to apple for repair [wonder why they couldn't just put it on?] for the display chip problem.
Since I now had a spare keyboard, I decided to take the keys off the old iBook's kbd and put it on my Pismo kbd. It turns out quite nicely. It has bronze keys on the outer most (one layer) and the inside is filled with the white translucent keys from the iBook. I had to use the clips from the iBook to hold the keys to the Pismo Kbd. since the original clips wouldn't fit the iBooks' keys. (also means the the Pismo's wouldn't fit on the iBooks Board)
The keys are a little loose, but the look great. I will be posting photos soon (prob. a day after this is posted. So, now I have a snazzy looking keyboard on the laptop. The first of many mods that will happen to it.
So what are your thought on it.?

Pismo/ iBook Keyboard mod.
I thought about this possibility some years ago (due to my US keyboard which I wanted to swap for a German version) - but I didnt do it. It is good to hear that it works AND even looks nicely. Send me some photos or post them here. AND Pismo Powerbooks are working and looking great - I am even writing these lines on one of them!
pictures will be up later today. Later, I might try different designs with the keyboard.
I have uploaded the pics. and here they are:
This is an overhead shot of the Pismo with the keyboard:
These are the keyboards that were used on the experiment. One was the old iBook keyboard, and one is the new Pismo modded.
This is the reason why it was replaced.
This is the finished product in black and white.
