Weird and even evil question, but I have a graphite 600 mhz iMac, it is about 3 years old and makes the loudest most obnoxious noise, and apparently it has no fan.........anyway I have a 4 year replacement warranty with the store that I purchased it at. So now I would like to break it, to the point where it can never be repaired so that I can get a new one. Can anyone please tell me how to go about this procedure without making it obvious, otherwise I wont get my new iMac. Please help! :?

If the noise is that annoying - and you didn't describe the noise so I'll assume it's either the hard drive or the monitor circuitry - take it back to the store and tell them you consider it to be broken because it's too loud to use.
I can see how you would look at it that way. I feel bad even thinking to do so, only reason why I am considering it is because I payed $500.00 for this special warranty, so its not like they are just going to give me a new one, its partially paid for. I know it still doesnt make things better. You can think badly of me as much as you want, im just looking for some advice.
I think your in the wrong place. A warranty covers only repairs to a computer. Apple won't replace it no matter what. Believe me, i know.
They may not even be able to get the parts for it anyway. So, if you did send it in, they might have to replace it. I suggest you call Apple and see what kind of options they give you.

On that note, can someone help me with a problem I'm having? My car is kind of old and is making some loud noises. Could someone vandalize it for me, to point where the car is irrepairable, in order for me to collect the insurance on it? I mean, I pay for the policy and its not like I am getting anything out of it. Besides, the money I pay anually for my insurance policy would definately help my insurance company defray the cost of the payment they would make to me. Now, I don't want this to look suspicious in any way. If it looks shady, then I won't be able to defraud my insurer and get my new car.
I wouldn't mind being set up with a new liver. The one I have is not processing alchohol nearly as well as it did 10 years ago...

Why the bloody hell did you pay $500 for an extended warranty. That has to be close to 50% of the original purchase price.
The purchase price was over $2000 (Canadian) so if anyone has anything useful to say it would be greatly appreciated.
How about:
1) Read the fine print of the warranty. As already suggested, consult the store you bought the iMac from. Is there any provision for full replacement? If not, this is all moot.
2) You're asking for advice to do something immoral, and possibly illegal. You're not going to get any help for that here. Your claim that the $500 warranty is half the cost of a replacement is no justification. You were foolish enough to blow that much on a warranty, use it for repairs like it was intended and deal with it.
One thing I'm not clear on: Why is it important to get a replacement, not a repair? Are you conspiring to get a replacement of the exact same model, or do you believe you'll get a new model iMac as a replacement?

The longer you wait to get a problem with your iMac taken care of, the costlier the fix will likely be. If you're not capable of troubleshooting the problem yourself, just bite the bullet, take the thing in & get that obnoxiously loud noise taken care of. From the sound of it, it's likely a bad bearing in the hard drive (my in-laws' Snow iMac does the same thing) and shouldn't be too bad to replace while the drive is still working.
Once it's fixed use it 'til it drops or advertise the thing for sale & use the proceeds towards the purchase of a new Mini Mac.

If it is the hard drive making that sound (and your local guy-that-fixes-everyone's-PCs should recognise the sound), just replace it with a new, faster, bigger and silent one like a Seagate Barracuda.

BTW: now that I don't work there anymore, I can tell you that the big grey bin in the boom movie posted above says "Apple Recycles" on the side. I had that monitor in my office and it slowly went bad until one day I couldn't read it anymore. My boss decided to give it a proper send off with his bowling ball. Its too bad really the cheezy little microphone on that camcorder failed to capture the earth shattering boom it made, or that we stopped recording just before someone across the room popped his head up and yelled "WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT?"
What did you shoot that thing with? Sounds like a .22.
Actually it was my 45. Microphones aren't so good at recording real gunshots.

Actually the airport extreme did everything poorly. I replaced with a part that cost 1/3rd the price and was superior in every way (though it seems all home router AP's a turds)
Oh and you count so many shots because it's multiple magazines 8, 8, and 7.

The loud noise is almost definitely your hard drive, just chuck it and get a new 40 gig one at a local computer store for pennies.
You want a 5400rpm and not faster. You'll be replacing a faster one... faster! They get too hot.
Good point EEUN! Morals, where are our Morals today. I am a PC Technician. LOUD noises are considered a PROBLEM. Usually means it's going to die anyways. Take it back to the store and let them hear it. I think you would be suprised that they will fix it.
