Found it at a thrift store for 90 cents and it boots up great but when i try to initialize the scsi drive it says there is no activity on the bus but i know the scsi cable is plugged in. Any help would be appreciated

7100 boot

Hey,

That's bizarre. What are you using to initialize the disk?

Is it the original Apple driv

Is it the original Apple drive?

If not, you might need a third party formatting utility if it's not. You can also track down Apple's HD SC Setup 7.3.5, then google for the patch which will let it see non-Apple scsi drives.

Might still work

When Drive Setup says it's unsupported, that probably means that the drive has been formatted with a third party formatting utility at some point in the past. So Drive Setup can't update the disk's drivers.

But if it's the original drive, Drive Setup will be able to re-initialize/reformat it.

So you can leave it as-is, or wipe the drive and start over using Drive Setup.

Best,
Matt
