Macintosh BIOS

hoiye pplz, its only moiye

im doing the Cisco Networking Academy Program
and i need to find out what the bios is on the mac im using, which is a colour classic, Thanks

Macs don't have BIOSes. They have an equivalent in ROM, but it's not user-accessible.

Ah....the power of mac

Welcome to the mac!!

You have never noticed how on a pc to install a cd-rom or extra hard disk you have to configure it in the BIOS?

Have you ever noticed that on a mac you dont?

This is where mac was SEVERAL YEARS ahead of PCs. PCS HAVENT AUTO-CONFIGURED YET!! (last time i checked)

The older Macs use what is ca

The older Macs use what is called a ToolBox stored in ROM. In effect, part of the OS is stored in the ROM, unlike a PC which uses the BIOS to test hardware and simply act as a bootloader.

One reason why macs do not have a 640KB memory roof and they can maintain ramdisks during a reboot. (Warm reboot)
