I've been using this monitor for years, but just became curious about it's label with 'For Apple Use Only', yellow sticker dot, 'apple service', ser. # and some other identifier in pen ink - all underneith the lable's lamination. I was able to find one other image of a yellow dot on the rear of one of these monitors. At one point, I had a G4 Cube that was labled on the insidc 'Apple Test Machine' and am curious if this is something akin to that or... just something normal. Certainly doesn't seem so to this brain. But let's hear from the experts of 'yall out there. =]
Hand written SN I woud guess means it is an early production unit for internal test/use at Apple.
Thanks again ~ had been my suspicion. Just have no idea how rare this is. I'd noticed it and then a week or so later there was a story about a IIc prototype in a Sotheby's auction and I noticed a similar, but orange sticker on it's label.

Rare? Probably. Tremendously valuable? Maybe, but probably not so much. There is enough of this stuff floating around that it probably gets a bit of novelty collector interest, but you're probably not going to sell it and retire to your own private carribean island or anything.
