Color Classic Web Server

It's not a souped up screamer but my Color Classic does serve web pages to the world, have a peek: http://colorclassic.dyndns.org

Even though it's listed in Google most of the hits it gets are still Windows virus infection attempts!

Nice! - But. . . .

How can 74% Netscape usage and 80% Mac usage both be right? Does the logging software think that Safari is Netscape?

Is iy a standard CC? A 575 board might be interesting!

best wishes,

Stuart

user agent tracking

Hi Stuart,

You are spot on about the user agent statistic for "Netscape 7" and the percentage of visitors using Macs appearing to conflict.

Apparently the way eXTReMe Tracking counts their user agents interprets Safari as "Netscape 7" - I will send them an email asking if they can change this. Since they are a free service I can't whine with too much basis but as Safari gets more market share I suspect they will want to reflect the more accurate statistics for all of their customers, including the ones who pay for the premium levels. If you know of a better free tracking service please let me know!

I've pondered replacing the logic board with one from a 575 and might have to if traffic picks up. I'd like to have more free RAM to run additional apps on it and that's probably the easiest way to do that.

Me too!

I've also set up my Colour Classic as a server. I've had it since 1995 and couldn't bring myself to throw it away/ sell it/ whatever. I upgraded it to the "Mystic" configuration in 2003 with the 640x480 screen size. It now operates in my network as a print server/local talk bridge for my laser printer with Appleshare 4.0.2 and also serves up a few files. Next project is to stick a larger HD in it and replace the broken Floppy drive. http://212.159.68.77

colorclassic.com

I was surprised the domain was available, so I registered http://www.colorclassic.com and pointed it to my Color Classic web server at http://colorclassic.dyndns.org.
