I've heard it doesn't, but I don't see why it wouldn't...

i think its because of the 16

i think its because of the 167mhz bus setting, but im not 100 percent sure.
anyway, a dual 1.42 (the highest shipped from apple) would still be faster than a 1.6

no a cpu in a Beige G3/B&W/Yi

no a cpu in a Beige G3/B&W/Yikes have the same type of cpu zif slot and will enterchange. the cpu that came out in the sawtooth and up hav a way diffrent cpu slot. the sawtooth has the same cpu as the quicksilver but the QS has a faster bus than the sawtooth i think

The way I understand it . . .

is that a CPU for QS and earlier cannot work in the MDD series, and visa versa. The bridge chips are different as are the CPU slot connector pinouts.

I'm unaware of any upgrades for the MDD series.

The sawtooth, gigabit etherne

The sawtooth, gigabit ethernet, quicksilver and MDD macs all have the same CPU slot. Not sure about the Yikes mac.

re: The sawtooth, gigabit ethernet

Same connector, different 'slot'. That is to say, the connectors are identical, but AFAIK the MDD architecture, and CPU-slot-pinout, is different from the previous serie.

If anyone has any real info about using MDD CPUs in earlier machines, or using earlier CPUs in MDD Macs, I'd love to hear about it.
