Question about Takky and IDE hard drives
Greetings everyone.
I was wondering if it is possible to use a non-Apple IDE device in a Takky-modded Colour Classic. Or does the disk have to be Apple-branded. I'm using a SCSI drive so far but I have a fairly large additional IDE drive lying around at home, basically useless. Could the standard IDE drive work? For non-apple SCSI devices, there is the A/UX disk formatter. Is there a different utility used for IDE drives or does it use the same? Anyone? Cheers!
Ben
You should be able to use
You should be able to use any IDE drive in your Takky, though depending on the OS you're running you may end up with a lot of small partitions.
Later versions of Apple Disk Tools that came with an IDE-equipped Macintosh should work.
Thanks for the info eeun!
