The infamous Sticky Bat Probe.
You know what I'm talking about, right? Catch a ball with the sticky bat, mosey over real casual to another player, hold the ball beyond their bat, and release. For additional cheapness, combine with IT (note: I don't think IT is cheap on it's own).
Shred Extreme, it seems, is not a good deterrent, as it actually allows you to get even closer and bypass the entire shield ring and one-hit-KO an opponent.
This could be solved pretty easily by largening the area the game treats as "another person", effectively creating a small invisible wall around the characters.
While we're on the subject, I have noticed that in Dogs and Dogs Extreme, if the player positions his bat so that the ball would appear over another player, the ball will not appear at all. Erm... anyway to fix this and not allow cheating by sticky bat probing?
Actually, we looked at this d
Actually, we looked at this during ABE's development and decided to keep sticky bat probing available. Because you've got thrust control, you can attempt to keep away from players with sticky bats, and if they try and use thrust, it launches the ball.
I'll keep an eye out for the effect you've seen in Dogs and Dogs Extreme though
don't make invisible walls!!
me and my friends LIVE for getting together and attack with our favorite powerup; the sticky bat.
my strategy is to get sticky bat, thrust into as many people as possible, get a ball, and shoot your best friend right through the protecting balloons and into their middle balloon, causing insta-death. it's the greatest and i would die if there is a wall between players. i really would. anyway, i noticed it's a lot harder to get closer to someone now than in the classic version.
