I have a Microsoft Softcard III CP/M card with the manuals and disks in original box that i want to sell.
Obviously i know the card can't be used, but can my Enhanced //e with Disk ]['s or DuoDisc (i have both) read Apple /// disks to verify there's still something on them?
I recall reading this somewhere online recently, but wanted to confirm before i try it and possibly destroy the disks.

Yes, the Apple /// drives have the same hardware as the Disk II. The electronics of Apple /// drives have a few extra features, but these don't affect the disks itself.
Also, the logical filesystem is the same: the filesystem developed for Apple /// SOS was reused for ProDOS on the Apple II. So when you boot ProDOS, you can look at the contents of Apple /// disks, inspect/add files etc. Made it very easy to exchange data between Apple // (ProDOS) and Apple III.
(And btw, you can also load the "Apple II emulation" disk on Apple /// - and then you can, of course, also use Apple II (DOS) disks on Apple ///).
thank you for the detailed reply.
