I have my wDrive connected to the Apple IIc throught the BMOW disk switcher that enables to boot from it. After somes days testing and loading disk images succesfully, I have two questions:
1) How can I set the time that the display background light is turned on? Now is turned on all the time, but when used with my Apple IIe I think to remember that it turns off after a few seconds since the last disk access. No mention about this in the manual then, I'm not sure if is possible or not, or maybe if it's a firmware issue.
2) As far as I know, wDrive supports Smartport and the Apple IIc already has this feature, but when I try to load a Total Replay image for example, I get the message "No bootable device". What's wrong?

The //c only supports smartport on rom 0 or higher. The original rom did not support it. To check the version, enter:
print peek(64447)
at a prompt and hit return. If it comes back with FF, you have the original rom that does not support it. You can upgrade the rom, but it will require minor modifications to the motherboard.
Thank you for the advise, I'm sorry that I have forgotten to say that mine is 4X. Originally it was 255 but was replaced later so, 4X supports SmartPort.
I have a floppy emu, not a wDrive. So the only other thing I can suggest is making sure the drive switcher is set to external/straight through. Meaning the //c should check the internal drive first before checking the wDrive.
It won't boot in smartport mode (at least on my regular rom 4, not X, machine) if the switcher is set to "cross over" where it never spins up the internal drive at boot.
