Hi, I have two of these cards that don't work well. When I place one of them in the Apple IIe I get only vertical blocks at the screen and the keyboard doesn' t respond. With the other the Apple IIe starts up but the duo drive does nothing. The duo drive is ok because with another Apple IIe it is working well. My question: where can I find the documentation (schematics etc) of this controller card (655-0101) or can someone help me with a servicemanual or schematic?
Hi, the closest I can find is the Apple Disk ][ Interface Card.

The only difference is that the DuoDisk card wires both of the drive headers into one DB-25 connector.
I would suspect the PROMs on the board that gives you strange text. If you have a working board, and your DuoDisk controllers have socketed ICs (some do, while others are non-socketed), then you can freely swap components from a working card (including Disk ][ controller cards) to the DuoDisk cards, and see what is bad.
Always clean the card edges, and clean any socketed components and sockets, ere you go out of your way to diagnose things.
The first controller board: what's the state of /RESET? There's probably an issue with the NE556 on this board, if /RESET stays low.
I have one spare card and they have both sockets for the IC' s so I can swap them and I found out that P5 or P6 failed. So the system is working again, but I like to repair the spare card, is it possible to program a new P5 and P6 Prom like I do with an Eprom and which type can I use?
