I'm sure this topic has been covered before, although searching forums here didn't pull it up for me. Does anyone know approximately how many II+ units were made? It seems like there is some confusion out there -- the later dot matrix labels seem to end in the high 500,000s, but there are a few with earlier style labels in the 1000000s. Kind of confusing. I'm just wondering how close to end of production mine (SN: 588366) is.

That's the highest I've seen... Please register yours on http://diskpreservation.com/dp.php?pg=apple_registry).
There is one a few thousand less than yours from very late 1982.
I would expect Apple quit pretty soon manufacturing II+'s and went full-time to IIe's since it cost them less to make... IIe was released in January.
This matches up to the numbers in this article.

About 600,000 Apple II/II+'s were sold.

Cool. Well, it would be interesting to see if I manage to end up having the latest 2+. I've added all three of mine, including my B&H to your registry. I goofed on my second II+ though and it got the wrong style power key.
Which serial is wrong and what type of light?
So now we know at least II+'s were still being serialized in early February 1983. Interesting...
It was the II+ I put up.. 19000 range.. accidentally put the raised power button from a II on there. Should be the flush II+ power light.
