Very cool, Joe Torzewski's Apple-1. All the mods are documented on his website and very historical since he was trying to keep the Apple-1 alive when the Apple II was taking off. This is a case where I wouldn't clean or change a thing or even try to operate it. It belongs in a museum or in displayed Apple collection as is.

I'm just glad to see these nice hi-res pictures of the board.

Cheers,
Corey

This would probably be the most famous Apple 1 of all.

Joe was the founder of Apple I Owners Club and he took over the support role for the Apple 1 from Woz.
Joe also refused an offer from Steve Jobs to trade in this Apple I for an Apple II. A good move on his part.

Why is this Apple I being sold ? Did Joe pass away ?

I don't think this one stands a chance of making the top 5 most interesting Apple 1's list and top 10 is problematic. Ignoring the one at the Smithsonian, Woz's, Liza Loop's and this one: http://www.willegal.net/blog/?p=7159, there are quite a number more that have been in the hands of well known Apple employees, business associates, authors and technology inovators.

Mike Willegal

There are some vintage photos of Joe's Apple I, along with an interview of him, in chapter 1 of Apple I Replica Creation:
