G4 on hold - say hello to iBike
I've put my G4 project on hold until the new processor arrives...then I can determine whether or not I need a new logic board, or if I should bite the bullet and but a whole system to save me the trouble of sourcing the other parts I'll require.
In the meantime, to keep myself busy I've purchased plans (Link) for a recumbent bike made from 2 x 4s.
For parts I'll probably use my ancient Norco Bigfoot, a bike I purchased new back in 1985. I used to ride the indestructible bike everywhere, but it seems I no longer have the neck, wrists or the butt for the standard upright bicycle anymore.

There's probably some comment
There's probably some comments that could be made about following through with plans...or maybe not. Sometimes plans need to be remade when new or better information becomes available.
The G4 processor confirmed the logic board was bad. The new processor also had its own cache problems. In the end I bought another processor and a digital audio G4. All good, no modifications planned for now.
But the bike, you say!
Yeah, that all changed too.
The wooden bike didn't work out, and had enough issues - created by me rather than the fault of the plans - that I decided to teach myself some welding skills and do the bike in metal.
A free set of plans from recycled recumbents and a brazing kit from Canadian Tire later, and the end result is a comfortable bike
There's still a few adjustments to be made to the gearing, but after a few rides I've found it to be infinitely more comfortable to ride than the standard upright bicycle design. I'm sure than once I've got my cycling legs back, I'll find it faster, too.
